Board Members

The board is comprised of individuals from the community, and is representative of the organization’s clients. The board is in charge and is directly accountable for the overall direction and policies of ARC. Powers are given to the board by the Articles of Incorporation and the organization’s bylaws.

The major responsibilities of the board of directors are as follows:

- Determine the organization’s mission and purpose,

- Support the executive and review the executive’s performance,

- Ensure effective organizational planning,

- Ensure adequate resources,

- Manage resources effectively,

- Determine and monitor the organization’s programs and services,

- Enhance the organization’s public image,

- Save as a court of appeal,

- Assesses its own performance,

The organization is responsible for the insurance and liability protection of board members and officers in legal actions. As such, the organization requires its own insurance and liability protection in legal actions by others.
